Marijuana

Postby MrAloeVera on Thu Oct 09, 2008 1:33 pm

While it may be controversial and not legal in all 50 states, study after study has proven the benefits of smoking pot for those who are suffering from the pain of cancer and glaucoma, as well as some forms of epilepsy and the spasticity caused by multiple sclerosis. There is also evidence to show that marijuana causes the "munchies" and causes patients to gain weight, which could be lifesaving for those with AIDS.

Any thoughts? Except getting high with it

The closest legal thing I can think of compared to marjuana would be 20 - 40 mg of Prozac each day. But be warned, Prozac may induce the urge to pass one around!

marijuana is known as ganja in indonesia. Of course it's illegal here, because there is too many bad effect than it good effect (for medical purpose). And in singapore, there is no another punishment but a death-penalty if police find you bring marijuana. Never try it...!!!!

I didn't know that Marijuana could help in gaining weight, It's also called Ganja here in Nepal and it's illegal to sell/trade Marijuana in public but people still buy/sell it unknowingly. But in our country people who use excessive amount of Marijuana loose their weight.

Marijuana has long been considered a Class A substance, making its possession as egregious a crime as possession of heroin or cocaine. But, its usage should be equated with that of tobacco and alcohol, rather than that of harder drugs. World Health Organization studies concluded, "On existing patterns of use, cannabis poses a much less serious public health problem than is currently posed by alcohol and tobacco in Western societies." Marijuana should be legalized — or at the very least decriminalized — and be regulated and taxed by the federal and individual state governments.

I live on the west coast of the USA in a State called Oregon, it is a legal medicine here and is considered a natural plant that offers relief of uncomfortable symptoms for people. There is no proof that is is addictive or causes any form of physical or mental problems. Alcohol is much more harmful to the body and for society.
