Yes yes yes... or do both. Plus Im going to say what everyone else is saying nowadays

That means, Myspace , Facebook, Youtube, Twitter ect ect.
And that IMO isn't really fun.
My advice would be to get a domain that matches your product name fast.
Then create a keyword friendly splash page and put that up, while you develop your website.
It can be allot of work so don't get discouraged.
